Here are two definitions of the word “ANGEL”:

1-a spiritual being believed to act as an attendant, agent, or messenger of God, conventionally represented in human form with wings and a long robe.

2- a person of exemplary conduct or virtue.

As you know, I try very hard NOT to discuss religion or politics in these posts, so concerning the above first definition, I am not going to provide my thoughts on whether real angels truly exist.

So, let’s look at the second definition, i.e. “A person of exemplary conduct or virtue”.  Although many/all of us do not 100% of the time are “angels” in this definition, I have zero doubt that to the important people around us, we are viewed, at times, as being angels to them.  This could be a simple act of covering for a co-worker when they must leave work to attend to a personal issue.  Or, when one of your grandchildren are ill, agreeing to watch the child for a day so your own child can go to work and not be stressed out.  Or, helping your spouse complete some task that you do not enjoy doing.   There are many, many more instances when all of us are, in some form or fashion, are perceived by others as “angelic” in our behaviors.

This post was inspired by a song I heard while watching an old movie, “Charlie’s Angels”.  The song was performed by “Tavares” and was entitled “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel”.  I started thinking about the reverse concept:  When an important person in your life passes, then “Earth Must Be Missing An Angel”.  Although our departed loved one may still live in our hearts forever, in reality, that person is no longer there physically to perform all the angelic activities he/she used to do.

We, meaning all of us, are viewed by the very important people in our lives as “Angels”.  We owe it to all of them to take the necessary steps to continue our angelic activities.  Let’s make it the case that Heaven is missing an angel, not Earth.  Stay focused on improving your health and most certainly, shedding that weight.

Now, place on those Huckapoo shirts, bell bottom pants, disco shoes and enjoy Tavares…I challenge you to keep your feet still as you listen/watch this video.
