Here are several definitions of the word “POWER” when being used as a noun:
- “the ability to do something or act in a particular way”
- “the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events”
Focusing on the weight control arena, there is no doubt that we all need to discover, embrace and harness the “Power” that is needed to carry out the steps needed to shed the weight and keep that weight off. The “formula” for successful weight control, on paper, sounds simple: Maximize protein and vegetable intake while minimizing carbohydrate, sugars, fruits and alcohol. No one is pinning us down, forcefully opening our mouths and shoving the derailing foods/drinks down our throats. So, essentially we all have the “Power” to choose and consume the food and drinks that will help our weight control journey. We can all place a check mark next to the first definition of “Power”.
Concerning the second definition as this relates to weight control, we all do have the “Power” to positively influence others’ behaviors that impact their health. If we prepare food for the family, choose the types of restaurants the family/friends go to, and show the “Power” that we have to control our own weights, this will influence our loved ones to perhaps exert their ‘Power” over the obstacles that get in the way of successful weight control.
YOU have the “Power”…use this to take control of your weight control destiny.
And there is also lots of “Power” in love. Enjoy Celine Dion’s The Power Of Love.
