There are two places in the house that can contribute to the “make or break” of your successful weight control journey: The kitchen’s pantry and your refrigerator’s freezer.
For most, the pantry provides an area to store food sources that do not need refrigeration. This area is in the kitchen and is readily accessible when we are at home. The pantry can “house” many items and for many households, you can find such things as:
- Chips
- Nuts
- Cookies
- Crackers
- Cereals
- Breads
- Bottles of wine
Not too many protein/vegetables choices in anyone’s pantry, correct?
Now, to the freezer: Now we can find dietary-friendly items such as:
- Chicken, turkey, fish and meat
- Vegetables
However, the freezer may also contain derailing items such as:
- Processed, microwavable meals
- Ice cream
Take an inventory of what YOU have in your pantry and freezer. If you do see items that you believe are derailing your weight control efforts, donate them to a food bank and “cleanse” your pantry and freezer.
To quote those old Capital One Bank commercials that begged the question: “ What is in YOIR Wallet?”, Posner is asking the question: What is in YOUR Pantry and Freezer?
